Individual and Family Therapy
I offer outpatient individual and family therapy for people struggling with eating disorders. Sessions are collaborative between therapist and client, and anyone else you’d like to invite into our work together (sometimes, this may include dietitians, doctors, family members, partners, and/ or friends). I will meet you where you are and help you gradually stretch beyond your comfort zone so that you can move toward your goals.

Shopping Exposures
Depending on the location of the client, I am available to offer shopping support for clients needing assistance in dressing their body in recovery. We will make a list of goals for the exposure, and I will work to help you challenge body image distortion, select clothing that makes you feel comfortable, and help you utilize positive self-talk and other coping skills while shopping. This was an activity I enjoyed doing while working in treatment centers, and I love to help clients bring the skills we’re working on in session to real life by being your personal hype woman, recovery coach, stylist extraordinaire! Depending on the location, additional fees may apply given travel time/ costs.

Testimonials from My Clients
“The biggest difference I would say is the flow of our conversations never feel like typical therapy. In the past I have been met with the standard "and how does that make you feel?" sort of conversation that does not feel genuine or like the person is actually listening to you. Kate is the most present and real therapist I have ever met with and it always feels like I am talking to a friend each time we meet. It is obvious that Kate really gets to know her patients on a different level.. I don't feel like I have to remind her of what we spoke about in our last session because she takes a genuine interest in my life. Lastly what sets Kate apart is that she is open about her own recovery and is able to relate to me on a different level which makes our sessions so much more comfortable. Kate has helped me to process the rollercoaster of emotions that has come with my recovery journey… Kate has taught me so many ways to cope with all of the thoughts running through my head at all times. She helps me to remember that I am not alone in how I am feeling.”
“What sets Kate apart is how easy she is to talk to. I feel safe talking with her and have complete trust in her ability as a therapist. I am starting to see where my eating disorder IS a disorder. I always felt like I was just a messed up a person; out of control at times. I see now how I have used food as a coping skill. I am starting to recognize in times of stress I turn to food to soothe myself. I am slowly working on healing from past trauma and noticing what triggers me or even when I have started to binge I recognize now I am using the food to cope and not for nourishment. I have made some changes and am very hopeful that as we continue to work together I will be able to heal.”
